A nice 3 piece woolen suit shows you’re putting the effort in.
A couple of suits and various ties and waistcoats keep things nice. You’ve got to keep the partner impressed.

I’m wearing a kilt and jacket as part of my mate’s wedding
Always wear my kilt (actually my late dad’s kilt) to any formal celebration event. Suit is only really used for funerals.

Do you wear underwear under the suit?

As far as I can recall the last time I wore a kilt was when I was a page boy at my aunt’s wedding in around 1989

Sadly, it seem sto be funerals that caus eme to wear a suit, with one wedding last year.
My funeral suit was teh suit I was married in, back in 2002 which I still fit, which is nice.
A 38R 32W 32 inside leg fits me like it was tailored and so many cheap "worn once" suits on places like Vinted. I got a nice brand new Marc Darcy suit for the wedding that had never actually ben worn as the wedding was during ock down so the best man/usher never actually attended.
Happily I do not have to wear a shirt or suit for work, mostly from home. But even in the office, nobody wear a suit other than the Cheif Exec.

I have a funeral suit and that's it, so I'm not a fan of wearing them!

No, you pay them handsomely for it.

Because the house build is 99% done now and I don't have to do much physical labour stuff anymore, my 29" trousers have gone from being loose, to being snug.

Because medicine has gone super casual and no one wears a tie any more (and most people live in scrubs) I have rebelled by mostly wearing three piece tweed.
