Isn’t the early N63 well known for various engine issues? First production hot-v engine.
Saying that, if it’s made it to 100k is probably been well looked after and had any work it’s needed.
Sadly, yes.

Needs walnut trim
Well if that's the case then it needs beige also (plus glass roof, plus the roof rails look odd in black so need to be chrome).
I don't know about a 518d badge. How about a wonky M in front of the 550i? Even if someone knew they made a 50 they'd assume from the spec it isn't one.

Snapped up. Just shows there's a market for unusual cars in any colour.

It was posted on the PH homepage and whenever that happens the car usually gets bought pretty quick.

I saw the post on the PH thread. What intrigued me is that there were a few other posts from people who'd been to see it and didn't buy it. It's unique FFS, if you think you might want it then just go and buy it. It won't be a different colour in the flesh

Agree, that's the kind of car that if I viewed it and it's as described, then I'm taking it home, unless there's some horrendous unspecified fault that isn't listed.

There was some debate about lacquer peel and rust bubbles that one person had seen but the buyer didn't think was as bad. Main thing they both agreed on was the dealership being absolutely hateful throbbers to deal with.

Alpina used the 4.4 V8 in their cars, as I thought that could be an option. Don’t think they did that gen in Touring over here though.
Different price point, but this could be an excellent sleeper

And the B5 Touring that went through Collectingcars recently looks good

The dealership was heard saying something similar about tyre kickers from PH

Perhaps it’s just the light/angle but there is something off about the tone of the o/s front bumper, too. Definitely a unicorn though as Jobbo said.

The new owner has posted on PH
"Hi All,
You may remember me (and the car) from the recent SPOTTED article regarding the red BMW 550i Touring. Well, it was me that bought the car and i collected it today, but not without issue.
When i went to view the car 2 weeks ago i spoke with the young salesman and made it very clear that i was going to be financing the car through my bank, he tried to get some numbers from the dealers finance provider but couldn't get close, so i left a deposit and went on my way. On collecting the car today i paid the rest of the cash portion of the sale, then asked for the dealers bank details to get my bank to send the rest of the funds over. Upon returning from the managers office, i was told there was an additional £250 admin fee for providing my own finance.
i refused to pay this and requested my deposit back only to be told they wouldn't return my money as i had signed a contract, which the young salesman who took my initial deposit very kindly ticked the 'Cash Sale' box. (i know i should've paid more attention) essentially extorting me into paying the extra.
They also agreed to repair a dent in the rear quarter, which has been done to a very poor standard (I can't figure out how to attach pictures if someone can help me out)
Again i was told this wasn't reason enough to reject the vehicle and i would lose my £2500 deposit.
I'd just like to know if anyone has been in a similar situation and what my legal options are.
some other things that might help my case:
1. The aircon doesn't work. (stored code for insufficient pressure)
2. The car hasn't even been washed even though i was told it would go through 'presale prep' before collection.
3. The car is missing floormats, even though the advert states it has it's original BMW velour ones."

As someone on the PH thread has said, can’t he take the finance and pay the full balance off a couple of days later?

He could have simply asked for the bank details and not told them he was arranging his own finance - then passed them to his funder to transfer the money.
The poor repair, non-functional air-con and missing mats are more of an issue. I’d refuse to pay and refuse to collect the car until they sorted it to my satisfaction and everything advertised is with the car. They can’t sell it to someone else when they have a contract and deposit.
