I know I am getting old because I read the list and thought "ooh I should visit Skelton Lake"

I don't care which are the best; I want to know which are the worst. It's not as if I'd go out of my way to Gloucester services if I needed a piss but I would certainly hold it in rather than stopping at Bridgwater.

We called at both Gloucester services this week, the main reason being that the motorhome parking is excellent. Nice purpose built large spaces rather than the afterthought most services have where you often end up in the piss stinking truck area.

Okay, I'm not mad, but... I'm going to visit all 10 of the service stations on the Which? list this weekend, with an overnight stay at Norton Canes on Saturday and Tebay on Sunday. Basically a "what's the best food at UK service stations" type video, combined with a hook of "I SPENT 48 HOURS LIVING ON THE MOTORWAY" clickbait title.

This is one of the reasons I love my job, I can do completely mental "what if..." things, write off the epxenses for tax, and get paid for it 😅

I'd watch it!
Bring us back a bit of tartan from north of the border.

I passed this fuel station a few days back.

Ps the Tebay hotel is lovely and amazingly reasonably priced for how comfortable it is. Mrs Newt in one of her less lucid moments actually suggested a weekend break there.

Last time we stayed we went for a walk down the country lanes by it and wound up helping a local farmer herd some sheep and then saw the flying Scotsman go past on the railway across from it.

I'm really impressed with how it looks, and definitely want to have a walk into the lanes nearby, it seems to be a big selling point that you can walk out the door and go for a lovely hike/walk straight from the services. Packed the drone for it's annual outing to capture some of that :D

I'm not joking either Beany, I passed that station a few days ago on my motorbike. I can't actually remember seeing the huge castrol oil bottle with the fuel prices on it, I must have been too busy eye-balling the fuel station as I rode past.

I feel like with Tom Scott quitting Youtube there's a big gap for someone to do these type of activities!

It was more that the Flintstones themed fuel area wasn't visible in your Google Maps link that I was referring to - I thought it was just a funny name, not....

....not that

That's incredible.

Tom Scott is pretty inspirational in terms of what he managed to pack into a video! I've also been enjoying the adventures of the guys on All The Gear, they're just normal dudes doing silly things. I think a combination of that with Tom Scott would work really well.
