Reform got what, 14% of the votes? You have an angry mob that feel unrepresented. I don't think labour can realistically reduce illegal immigration. So the unrepresented lot will grow, the immigration lot housed in hotels will grow. Then every small item will become a catalyst for conflict.

Oh, I don't disagree. But I assume there's a reason those haven't been widely deployed yet, from a legislative standpoint (IE there are certain frameworks that need to be followed before breaking the bean bag rounds out) - I'd guess for fear of escalating things.

Although when you're at the 'they're literally burning books in a library for the vulnerable' stage, I don't know why they weren't out in force by that point.

We're so used to it raining at this time of year that perhaps we've always just banked on that keeping summer unrest down.

My preferred approach would be water cannons, round them up like catch in trawler nets, dump them in the mid-Atlantic. If anyone makes it back they get a 2nd chance.

The rioters won't care, but the people who do feel they have 'legitimate concerns about immigration' who voted for fascist-adjacent fucknuts like Farage might feel less inclined to legitimise the views of the extremists in parliament if they themselves understand it better.

Farage, who has a history of actively inciting this shit by asking for people to look out for hotels that might have asylum seekers in them, because any one of them might be an ISIS fighter and you should tell Farage and his pals where they are.

There's no such thing as illegal immigration, only that which for a variety of unsavoury reasons is being thought of as undesirable. Branding it illegal is right-wing gaslighting.

The mechanisms for entry may be illegal, but the immigration itself isn't.
