I'm not sure how it works, but assuming they would get named when they're an adult, that is next week apparently, so naming him now is probably a common sense decision.
Racists are still going to be racists next week, but this avoids misinformation.

If you come across a friend, colleague or casual acquaintance coming out with this shit, just punch them in the head till they fall over, it'll save you a lot of pointless arguing.

I was reading that Anti-Immigration protesters from Dublin travelled to Belfast to join the protests over the weekend.
The Irish Tricolour and the Union Jack flow side by side as the thugs went into battle together on the streets of Belfast...
We are definately through some sort of looking glass here people...

Tommy Robinson - who you know is neck deep in this - skipped his bail and fucked off on holiday to north cyprus, which conveniently doesn't have an extradition treaty with the UK.
The Daily Mail found him and revealed his location. He's currently crying about being doxxed.
Mate, they didn't reveal your home address - they revealed the location of a criminal on the run.

Looks like every option government has to deal with these scumbags is a bit dystopian, too, by the nature of it.
It's either stronger anti """"protest"""" laws, or facial recognition, etc etc.
Fuckin' great.

Re: Southport
Any excuse for more monitoring of the ordinary people. Like rioters will give a damn about stronger laws.
Also, must suck to be a Policeman in this country, regulated to the point of having to stand at a riot like a melon and get your face smashed in. Don't think it'll get any better for them since the current PM was a former human rights lawyer for criminals and terrorists, so the Police won't be getting any stronger powers any time soon.

How about not having a sig at all?
Re: Southport
Problem is any long term action is gonna be at least semi-dystopian, and any short term actions are going to also be semi-dystopian (Ie emergency riot control act or something similar, to allow rubber bullets to be used sooner)
You can't win. I mean, you shouldn't have to not win, but I'm struggling to find any answer to this that isn't shit.
I mean, booting farage out of parliament once footie seasons starts wouldn't be a bad shout - the shitheads will be too busy at the game to go riot.

Re: Southport
This could end up being the new normal like France regularly have?
Reform got what, 14% of the votes? You have an angry mob that feel unrepresented. I don't think labour can realistically reduce illegal immigration. So the unrepresented lot will grow, the immigration lot housed in hotels will grow. Then every small item will become a catalyst for conflict.

Re: Southport
Oh, I don't disagree. But I assume there's a reason those haven't been widely deployed yet, from a legislative standpoint (IE there are certain frameworks that need to be followed before breaking the bean bag rounds out) - I'd guess for fear of escalating things.
Although when you're at the 'they're literally burning books in a library for the vulnerable' stage, I don't know why they weren't out in force by that point.
If you lower the standards for deploying those for the racist shitbags, you lower the standards for deploying them for everyone though which is by definition, more authoritarian.
Might just have to be one of those 'lose lose' scenarios I guess?
After that stage, can we crack down on the racist baiting moron herders, though? Maybe have a national educational symposium on the difference between 'asylum' and 'immigration'. You know, in crayon.

Re: Southport
I don't think we have water cannons do we? There was talk of their use donkeys years ago and I think an effort to procure but it all fell through? I can't recall.
No idea on tear gas. rubber bullets can't be used I think. Not sure about bean bags.
We're so used to it raining at this time of year that perhaps we've always just banked on that keeping summer unrest down.
My preferred approach would be water cannons, round them up like catch in trawler nets, dump them in the mid-Atlantic. If anyone makes it back they get a 2nd chance.

I'm not sure they want to understand the difference. And let's be honest, those that are rioting and looting are doing so because they want to - it's got sweet FA to do with anything else that they might suggest is a reason.Beany wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2024 12:11 pm After that stage, can we crack down on the racist baiting moron herders, though? Re: Southport
The rioters won't care, but the people who do feel they have 'legitimate concerns about immigration' who voted for fascist-adjacent fucknuts like Farage might feel less inclined to legitimise the views of the extremists in parliament if they themselves understand it better.Swervin_Mervin wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2024 12:18 pmI'm not sure they want to understand the difference. Farage, who has a history of actively inciting this shit by asking for people to look out for hotels that might have asylum seekers in them, because any one of them might be an ISIS fighter and you should tell Farage and his pals where they are.
Boggles the mind how people think it's all unrelated. Farage wants to recall parliament so he can tubthumb, and he can fuck right off with that.

Can’t they just invent a brick cannon to fire into the crowds at crotch height?

Re: Southport
There's no such thing as illegal immigration, only that which for a variety of unsavoury reasons is being thought of as undesirable. Branding it illegal is right-wing gaslighting.Mito Man wrote: Mon Aug 05, 2024 11:14 am This could end up being the new normal like France regularly have?

The mechanisms for entry may be illegal, but the immigration itself isn't.
