I was a member of The Classic Car Club.
I hired the following, no mileage limits and I did the most in the 360.
Maserati Quattroporte - loved this but it broke down.
Ferrari 360 - Lived this more, exploitable and fun, got engaged in it.
Karmann Ghia - yeah, looks pretty, dog shit to drive above 30mph.
ML500 - changed my mind about SUVs
Q7 3.0 tdi - yeah, but not a diesel one.
Bentley Turbo - so much stupid RWD torque monster fun.
SL 350 - better than expected, great weekend away car.
MK2 Jaguar - hilarious, old, fun but Lucas electrics cut my rental short.
300SL - my second favourite hire, bags of fun, classless, drove like a new car, genuinely quick across country.
Porsche 930 Turbo - Crashed when being given back to the club, I never got a go.
It was great value at the time using a points system, weekend in summer more than midweek or winter etc.
If you want to try a lot of different stuff then itβs great, as a way to drive a car instead of owning one, itβs expensive.
Dave!
