Restomod RS200 is en-route. Apprarently.

I get the RS200 ambition but why do a MK1/2 Escort when MST have got this nailed at reasonable money and order books full.

Look a bit like Ford having the hump with MST!

They are never going to sell 1,000s or even 100s so why not do something different like a RS1700T or RS3100 which would still have historic racing and nostalgic benefit but not compete with someone already excelling at it!

Hmmm, not sure I'm feeling much love for that. The front wheels are too tucked - needs lifting about 10mm and maybe another 10mm of track width. The stupid black tints are stupid. It sounds very meh, and that sluuurrrrrring of the gear changes suggests a sloppy old slusher is in there (I'm sure it's not).

No ta.

I’m surprised it sounds as good on load as it does, because at idle it sounds like a Massey Ferguson.

It looks oddly heavy, like the wheel arches sit too high in the wings. It would be much more impressive with a high revving NA engine though.

Far too expensive but the noise was a surprise.

In the comments on their own channel they claim it's a manual (and that is the intended spec), which is what the finished car is supposed to have, but if that's just a test car being run up and down a runway for press shots, I'd bet it's got an auto in it.

Yeah that was no manual. That wasn't even anything as modern as a ZF6 by the sounds of it  Reminded me of when the F-Type was first released and TG did a review - engine sounded great but I couldn't not hear those loooong slurrrrrred gearchanges.

It sounds bloody awful at idle, some horrible resonances going on in that exhaust. I guess you’ll just have to drive it flat out everywhere 😄

The whole thing is weird, suffers from similar to the singer turbo. Looks great in static shots from certain angles, but kind of wonky and broken seen moving at normal angles.

The front headlights are an abomination and need throwing in the bin as soon as possible.

So if they narrow it a bit, remove the headlights, sort the engine a bit and lighten it then they’d make a good car ?

You know, I have a plan 😂

You know, while watching the video I couldn’t help thinking the normal evo 2 with some spacers would be the better looking car 😂

Wide arches usually mean wide wheels. The wheels on that barely look any wider than standard, just taller, and seem to sit entirely outside of where the normal 190 body would be.
