Which footwell ? The one on the driver’s side, obvs.

It was the Ferrari that was particularly on my mind but the 996 & Vantage are both a bit cramped too. Not that I’ve driven either of them this year. The trick seems to be not putting cars in the garage. Once they’re in, they’re too much hassle to get out again unless there’s a need for that specific car.

If it's fiddly for you're feet you'll be even less inclined to shuffle the garage contents about, evidently

The best driving shoes are usually just an old pair of trainers that have been retired from day to day duties due to wear on the sole (except when a tight pedal box precludes it).

For actual racing activities, I've been using a pair of OMP Carrera mid cut vintage boot (sic) for years now and it's been great. Bonus points for not looking shit either.

Don't meet your brief, but I'm awaiting delivery of some (discounted) Onitsuka Tiger EDR78's as "trainers that I can drive in easily". I bought a pair of Camper "Drift Trail" a while back - to use as "normal trainers" but I assumed they'd be OK to drive in too. With their super-wide soles however, they are lethal in the Lotus - almost impossible to press brake or accelerator without catching both pedals simultaneously....

I didn't, no. I ended up buying some Vans as a compromise, they're *just* about OK to drive in but not ideal.

Lots of different styles and not obvious they are a driving shoe, nor look like they're from the JJB discount bin. Flexible sole is great for driving.

Mine have lasted for years and look barely worn in.

What about people who don't have two right hands?

My best current driving shoe is actually a cheap pair of Gelert walking shoes, as they're light, vented and cheap as chips. Trying to drive with and precision in my Salomens is not ideal.
