My first car was a convertible (sort of - a 2CV) and I enjoyed it. I've had a few other convertibles and enjoy them for pootling but at higher speeds the noise & buffeting gets boring very quickly. The "higher speeds" thing was not really a problem with the 2CV

Overall, this, interior & headlining both black. With the exception of big luxury cars - my 740d & Flying Spur had / have cream interiors and IMO it works in a big car. Black would feel oppressive. I'm inconsistent like that.

I've always been a fan of coupes, but I am warming towards the idea of a drop top. I considered an M4 conv, but the weight and the effect it had on performance put me off.

Wear a sombrero
Can we get branded driving sombreros?
I wouldn't have the confidence to go as far as a sombrero, but I'd add to my collection of bucket hats if an OV9 one was available. :)

Does it count as a convertible if there's no roof at all?

Yes. Unless the non-roof is so large that you start to consider the vehicle to be a motorbike.

Roof down in the Boxster on a summer's day going down a great country road is one of life's great driving experiences. Visibility isn't great with the roof up, but the roof down experience makes it worthwhile. Even on a clear cold day, heated seats and the excellent heater mean roof down is always an option.
