This is the problem, the pain threshold is high so normally I put up with it. Sometimes though, it’s a push to stay still
It’s the noise that does me in, just like a soldering iron heating up.

I hate (too strong - lets go with "don't enjoy" instead) having my face numbed up for ages, so had an agreement with my last dentist that we'd try (smaller) fillings without any injection - most of them were OK. One wasn't.

It's a scary thing, avoiding it as long as I can. The missus is keen for me to get it though!

It’s a no brainier if your other half is still on birth control. Mine came off it and felt so much better we decided this is the way to go.
Also, having full permission for a nurse to give your balls a fiddle is no bad thing

Honestly once the second dose went in it was fine. As you're a gent of above average proportions I would ask for a second dose from the start.
They do say to avoid heavy lifting and little feet in sensitive areas, so maybe wait until that's controllable?

I guy I used to work with had 3 daughters within 2 school years because he and his wife were very fertile and... enthusiastic.
Upon arriving home after his vasectomy, they wanted to check everything still worked rather than following the advice of resting. It didn't go well. "Like a couple of grapefruit" was his discription.
Conversely, my vasectomy went smoothly, I only needed one dose of anasthetic and was chatting to the doctors as they worked.

I'll never forget the text I got from you describing your vasectomy! Put me off for years! The guy that did mine was old school (tied off, not cauterised), but we chatted about what laptop would suit him best during the procedure. Worst bit for me was having to go to the clinic a few weeks afterwards and "produce a sample" - empty room, no porn and no phone signal.
