I was thinking about this - in an area with likely no cameras, no witnesses etc, I bet they went straight to the mobile networks and asked for cell data for the likely time concerned, thus reducing it to just a handful of people.

Bloody kids.

Kill 'em all, I say. What a gift that'd be for the next generation.

....hold on.

Took out scouts there a couple of times. Absolutely unjustifiable. Hopefully the wood can be taken away and put to good use, like a nice tribute plaque, or baseball bats to hit the twat that cut it down

You do however walk through farmland and quite often see wankers not closing the gates after themselves.

Gorgeous part of the world, that part of the wall is quite well preserved and has a few mile castles along the way. We always take shelter in one to sit and cook lunch on trangia stoves

The final sentence about it reshooting :lol: Except the National Trust actually mentioned that. Nah mate, it's not going to be like a regular coppiced tree. It's going to look like a shit bamboo skewer growing out of a massive stump for at least 50 years before it looks somewhat acceptable. Which it won't.
Just remove it and replant.

What would be the purpose of spraying a line round it? As a guide? If so how do you know the line is any more even than a straight slice?

I’d understand it for marking out trees in a forest.

Too much carpentry involved. Take inspiration from the wall behind - two long planks - one vertical one horizontal and some 6 inch nails. Job jobbed.

Date is a coincidence I would have thought.

Supposed to have been a popular spot for night time photographers, obviously stormy weather makes long exposures rather difficult and gusty winds do a good job of masking and locating the source of chainsaw noise.

It sounds like there'll be someone around to do a good few hours unpaid work, and you don't want to make a martyr of them. There could be a hybrid;

Sycamore Man - he can make the cage from the tree, maybe smaller than necessary for use so there's enough wood to make gallows to hang it from.

While this is an absolute shame, there are a band of Retired Folks staging a vigil around a tree in town that has been condemned. It's roots are seriously undermining s block of 14 flats (all owner occupier) and several single occupancy homes who at the moment, cannot get insurance.

There are 22 million Trees in Milton Keynes but this is the one worth saving ?? It's seriously fucking with about 18 families lives but worth a permanent vigil. 18 trees in town were cut down this summer along my walking route but no-one complained but this one is worth all the fuss

Retired people with nothing else to do looking for "Likes" on the town facebook page

Diana Syndrome over a tree. There's 3 billion of them in the UK. Go look at a different one.
