It’s because they know that the only crime is big crime and stamping it it young is a waste of resources.

Dave!

I wasn’t expecting a full scale manhunt, obviously, but I would have hoped for better than an automated “computer says no” text message.

The last time I had a car broken into was in c. 1996, a 1983 Vauxhall Carlton, zero damage to the car because the locks were so shite you could open them with a teaspoon  They took some speaker pods that I’d made.

That's the correct part number for your car, so *should be the correct tint unless someone has also aftermarket tinted it.

It's a D revision so from 2007 so a little newer.

2009 in my red Landrover for me in central London. Zero damage as they unzipped the canvas to take the head unit - it would have been simpler to open the door, which I always used to leave unlocked to deter people from cutting the canvas!

Cheers. I’m going to have to check the exact part number from the car, I think mine is more of a bronze tint but honestly I can’t remember now it’s not right in front of me.

I also spotted this, not too far from home and they look like they’d do a deal for CASH.

Happy Birthday. I assume it didn't happen on the Isle of Wight because surely the island is pretty crime-free.

I think laminated glass is sold as noise-attenuating but it's something which seems sensible to spec if available. Having a shattered side window in pieces across the seat is a hell of a lot less convenient than having a cracked side window.

Botley, FWIW, just east of Southampton.

Being from Portsmouth I would say that's a Southampton thing, but I had my car broken into outside my dad's house in Portsmouth. Stole my sunglass... bastards.

Showed a mate I used to work with, who's in that area. He parks in that car park all the time and has friends who live near it. Says it's overlooked from the main road and local housing. Upset to see it happened at all, and during the day as well.

So if you would like to break some car windows, it looks like Hants is a good place to go.

T'was exactly the same when my 330e was broken into in London. Video evidence given to to Po Po and they couldn't care less. They spent more time asking if the incident was homophobic or racially motivated.

You should've said yes and then it might have been investigated

It was infuriating as it appeared that this was their only concern.

I was tempted to put it down as religiously motivated, seeing as we were at a Christian church ceremony at the time. But that’s not what they mean, is it ?

What race, gender, and sexual preference did your vehicle identify as?

Ah that’s shit, sorry to see. Hope you had a good birthday anyway. You may have a Bentley with a cracked window but at least you’re not a theiving crack-head.

It's German so it identified as superior and up for anything.
