There's 'tuna' and there's 'tuna'. Princes skipjack not so good and suitable only for mixing with mayo. Albacore in olive oil is a different matter. Fatty tuna sashimi is up there with Wagyu beef.
Try some Ortiz brand tuna by itself (sold in many supermarkets) and you might change your mind.

Yes that's the stuff. Sometimes in an oval tin but I think its the same contents.

They sell 220g glass jars of that in Wholefoods for just under a tenner. Used to always be on offer for £5.40 a few years ago!
I would bulk buy these when I went to France frequently for peanuts - well not the same brand but same quality. The tinned tuna we get in the UK is shit, and you then get the random bit of vein which is off-putting.

Probably but I’m not much of an anchovy person so tend to buy 1 tin a year and forget about it!
