It’s not that hard, just accurate. All sims are as hard as you want them to be though.
The only racing game which I thought feck this was the Dirt series. That on a wheel is an actual physical sweat fest and mentally exhausting and I game to have a good experience and relax so I gave up on that pretty quick.

I love dirt rally, can be might tough but so rewarding when you get it right. Don’t enjoy the tarmac stages so much, again the grip model doesn’t seem setup for it and it goes from not responding to throwing you sideways in a millisecond.
Same issue I had with project cars 2, things never really feel hooked up or predictable.

So which version of Assetto Corsa is the one to go for?

Assetto Corsa is the original fan favourite, loads of mods, wide selection of cars, really good physics.
Competizione is the much more niche current title, GT3 and GT4 racing only basically. It's still a decent sim but for me I got bored after a while being restricted to GT3. Most content on it is DLC too... I originally gave up on it as it ran like crap, especially when it rained. Then I remember it didn't have a skip function for practice sessions etc and even shortening races to 25% resulted in very long sessions as some GT races are 24 hours or 1000km etc. Maybe they've fixed it. After all that I didn't have the patience to grind out online to improve my score either.

Definitely the first. I've been blasting round Castle Coombe in an Elise for a couple of days, struggling to get Quarry right.
