If it's being scrapped, hopefully someone can take the engine out to put in an F40 - come on forum, we can make this happen!

Someone a while ago did a 1.9tdi conversion on an Elise. Sounded to me like a fucking horrendous idea.

What joy to be that close to the noise of a diesel engine:

You can buy a diesel F40 ready made these days, albeit a BMW.

@scotta @Marv That was a great day 8-) (although I can't find pics on the phone that I was sure I took at Glenshee).

Was it that day we encountered two separate but notable buffoons on the A939 Lecht Road who were desperate to demonstrate how fast they were? The Vectra 4-up with a knackered rear damper that was really hard to pass as it kept boinging into the other lane, and the A4 that understeered up two verges before he slowed down? :?

22 years! Wow, that's incredible and a bit sad too now it's going. Looks like some amazing memories though.
Cheers,

Mike.

The trip in Scott's pic was in 2017.

I believe I was in the M3 when we encountered the bell-end in the Vectra, which would have been 2014. So quite a number of years ago now!

I was thinking this morning, if you want an everyday car that gets driven all times of year (particularly winter gritted roads) and for it to last longer than 25 years, than an alu or CF body might be a good idea
