I very nearly bought an almost identical one about 3 years ago until I found out I couldn't tow with it.
I'd still love one, I think they look so much better than the newer ones.
@DeskJockey you can have the Coffee ones!

Love the cls. Mine seemed a step up in quality when compared to the c63 that followed it.

Wow, that looks like a win. When I was thinking about what would I get to do commuting in, if that situation arose again*, a CLS350 Grand Edition was top of the list. IIRC I was looking at £7-10k for them. Hope it comes off.
*Might be commuting tomorrow, down to Winchester. Might do it in the rally car.

Ah. Here we go. I had a feeling it would go south
Bloke says he can't get insurance, that the best quote he's had is over £6k ! For comparison, I'm paying ~£300 for it right now. I asked how much the CLS is costing him:
"
I pay £1600 for the CLS, I had insurance cancelled a few years ago and had a few non faults"
He's a massive liability by the sounds of it. My entire fleet costs about that to insure, which obviously includes two Porsches & an Aston !

It’s not looking promising. I certainly wouldn’t pay £6k to insure a crappy old van. Maybe he’s being stupid, maybe he’s trying to back out. I dunno.

In a lot of ways it would match my Dad's Maserati (which still isn't ready, btw).

Interestingly, WBAC value that at £4,320 - near identical to my asking price on the Vito ! I wonder if they'll swap

IME that Merc will rust (my basis for that statement being a 2003 CLK55).
Might still be worth it for the engine though.

Ah ! Same on the Vito. Early ones - pre '06 (ish) - rust like crazy.

Seats - yes it does, controls on the door.
I'll likely be the only person driving it so the value of having them is a bit moot. The wheels are a bigger deal for me.
Was the same for me but I had my 3 settings as "Normal", "Motorway" which was slightly reclined and the steering column slightly closer and "Kip" - Fully reclined, seat slid right back and steering column pushed fully away

You don't go for a drive on a Saturday afternoon, park up and have a snooze whilst listening to sports on the radio to get away from the family ??

We have me, her, and carpark exit - seat right back and lifted up a bit, to make it easier to get out of the long doors in a tight space
Our 2006 clk has zero rust, I thought they’d pretty much sorted it on their cars by the early 2000s. I’d definitely take a torch, magnet and screwdriver if looking at a mid to late 90s one though!
