There is nothing average about the "average" Bug owner. Most own their own businesses and my guess is a lot of the private jets are actually owned by the business while the cars are privately held.

I have no idea where I read that, but yes, like @SSO says, the jets are almost always a business asset.

I guess its a slippery slope when you're that rich you can have a fleet of cars, but, and I think we've also discussed this before, how many cars is too many cars, to the point where you're rarely actually driving any of them or it becomes a great private collection that nobody else will ever see.
