That map is bollocks. Where do you live?Zonda_ wrote: Wed Dec 28, 2022 8:43 pmLink showing Waitrose distribution.16vCento wrote: Wed Dec 28, 2022 8:08 pm Really? We have one in Otley?
I thought they were everywhere!

I'd agree. In fact, these days I'd say they're as good as most takeaway places. And a fraction of the price. It's easily £50 for 2 of us these days for a takeaway.
That's closed now as well. I think the closest one will be in Hexham, unless there's another south of you which is closer.Zonda_ wrote: Thu Dec 29, 2022 1:17 am £50 for a takeaway for 2?! Fucking hell! I like in Saltburn by the Sea, nearest Waitrose is Newcastle, 50 miles away and the only one I'm aware of 'locally'.
75% of my neighbourhood is a mix of Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi, so there's a lot of amazing curry around here for wayyyy less than £50 for two peopleSwervin_Mervin wrote: Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:36 pmI'd agree. Don't forget that London is like nowhere else in the UK!Gavster wrote: Thu Dec 29, 2022 10:40 am75% of my neighbourhood is a mix of Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi, so there's a lot of amazing curry around here for wayyyy less than £50 for two peopleSwervin_Mervin wrote: Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:36 pmI'd agree. And when it comes to curry, the first question is which region do you want it from, as there's only a few pan-Indian restaurants here, they're mainly organised by region e.g. Gujarati, Bengali, Goan, Hyderabdi etc.
Do they not deliver from there? My parents live towards Penzance and their nearest is Truro, which is 70odd mi away and they get deliveriesZonda_ wrote: Thu Dec 29, 2022 1:17 am £50 for a takeaway for 2?! Fucking hell! Well it’s academic as Kev has pointed out it’s since closed!Swervin_Mervin wrote: Thu Dec 29, 2022 11:32 amDo they not deliver from there? Not that I'm suggesting you do, just for a curry I've recommended![]()
Envious of that - the Cotswolds is not the epicentre of curry by a long shot. Despite the Balti Triangle’s reputation in Birmingham I’ve always had better meals east of the City; the old Empress of Bengal that we used to have Evo meets at is still fondly remembered (by me at least).Gavster wrote: Thu Dec 29, 2022 10:40 am 75% of my neighbourhood is a mix of Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi, so there's a lot of amazing curry around here for wayyyy less than £50 for two peoplefor example, there's one shop that only sells fresh baked naan, nothing else. I'd say the same about the curry mile in Manchester. Vastly overratedJobbo wrote: Thu Dec 29, 2022 5:21 pmEnvious of that - the Cotswolds is not the epicentre of curry by a long shot.
