I'd agree. In fact, these days I'd say they're as good as most takeaway places. And a fraction of the price. It's easily £50 for 2 of us these days for a takeaway.

75% of my neighbourhood is a mix of Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi, so there's a lot of amazing curry around here for wayyyy less than £50 for two people for example, there's one shop that only sells fresh baked naan, nothing else. And when it comes to curry, the first question is which region do you want it from, as there's only a few pan-Indian restaurants here, they're mainly organised by region e.g. Gujarati, Bengali, Goan, Hyderabdi etc.

Tbf the takeaway choice around here isn't great at all. And it seems to be getting worse if anything. Most main dishes are now £10-15 a piece so it's very easy to get up towards £50.

Do they not deliver from there? My parents live towards Penzance and their nearest is Truro, which is 70odd mi away and they get deliveries

Envious of that - the Cotswolds is not the epicentre of curry by a long shot. Despite the Balti Triangle’s reputation in Birmingham I’ve always had better meals east of the City; the old Empress of Bengal that we used to have Evo meets at is still fondly remembered (by me at least).

I wouldn't say it was worthy of 3 chillies on the hotness rating more like 2 tops.
Nice enough for a fiver, I would say the Aldi one is betterer.
No rubbery chicken - its does say 40 percent content which seemed fair.
Would have again but wouldn't go looking for it.

I had Tesco's version of that last night. Same issue with the occasionally rubbery piece of chicken but the sauce was worse; almost like fruity gravy and bland. Very disappointing. Jalfrezi from a supermarket is never hot enough.

The other half picked up one of those paper bag meal deal things from Sainsbury’s the other day as a quick easy eat.

I enjoyed my jalfrezi, decent amount of spice and the chicken was lovely and tender.
