I'll add the Alfa 8C to that list too.
8C is just a rebodied Granturismo

Didn’t many people think is didn’t deserve the GTO moniker???

Edit - actually No, it’s not a Supercar. It’s a special version of an existing car that isn’t sufficiently different to warrant the title.
Actually it really isn’t. 599 GTO is based off of the 599 FXX track car and is not just a tarted up version of a 599 GTB.

I think my definition would be “would a child be happy having a poster of this on their wall?”

For instance I ids aren’t going to have a poster of a 911 carrera s on the wall. They might however have a poster of gt2rs (supercar) which is “just” a special version of a sports car

And at what point do they become Hypercars?

They don't...

Hyper-car was an unnecessary designation created because too many cars that weren't Supercars were being given that moniker. :)

There needs to be a committee, like a Appellation d'Origine Controlée d'Supercar, to decide...

SSO as the inaugural Chair

When they need to justify why you should buy the £4million limited edition version. I’d say that’s a marketing term rather than describing something

I'd say hypercar is a valid descriptor for those limited run halo cars. Very rare, very fast, very expensive, should have some experimental tech that'll go wrong and turn it into a garage ornament in 20 years

A lot of the tech Porsche put in the 959 has not aged well and is absolutely eye watering to repair.
