You won't find anything as roomy unless you go up to 5series size

If you're just looking to trade up, why not something you won't lose much money in and keep what you save for something better later on?

V60 looks nice but has a wee boot, if that is a consideration and you have muckle dogs?

Superb is a nice place to be, huge legroom in the back and large boot and decent spec if you go exclusive (I think) which is heated leather xenons etc.

Paintwork is not that great, if they have mudguards check behind them as the Skoda ones actually rub through the paint.

An Octavia VRs estate or hatch would fit dogs and is slightly more exciting to drive than the Superb.

An E class estate would certainly fit in a small horse or two and the build quality and paint is far higher than Volvo or Skoda.

I also like the Panamera Estate but last time I checked the cheapest was £70k ish so well out of my price range sadly.

Are the Passat & Superb the same platform ? Passat estate is certainly very roomy, we’ve had two, but they are rather dull to drive. Anything “sporty” has a steeply sloping rear window that seriously eats into the headroom in the boot; depending on the size of your dogs that might be important.

You may as well cut out the middle man and go straight to a Disco. Huge capacity. Just keep your fingers crossed on the repair bills….

My Cayenne was £5k just under a year ago and I’ve spent over £2k on it since then Some of it necessary, some of it elective. It seems to be running quite well now.

Anything big & old will need various suspension bits replaced.

I'm not sure - the closest model to the mk3 Superb is actually the Arteon. They're essentially the same save for the Arteon has a more sloping rear roofline, which I found quite intrusive when trying to get in/out and I'm fairly average height at 5'11".

You can pick.up the mk2 Superb with the V6 gor a little less than budget. A bit more pedestrian looks-wise but more interestimg3 engine maybe

You'd get a Disco 4 for that budget, but I wouldn't bank on the reliability part of your wishlist

If its not an everyday car and you don't mind getting stuck in and fixing stuff yourself I'd choose one over anything else on that list though, they're great cars.

I'm still looking for a V8 import to come up.

Exec spec - heated & elec seats, apple car play, adaptative cruise.. umbrellas in door cards, pretty decent.

Stick with datsun.

F31 3 series touring. 318D will do. Ours is a great car.

An FF has been on my "retirement" fantasy list for a while but I do seem to have been watching a lot of videos about them in the last few weeks, so its spooky you mention them. Some interesting options mentioned. I'm going to go to a few of those used car "superstore" places today to have an actual look at the size of some of them in the first instance as I've no idea how much space they have in them for dogs and bikes. 3 series estate for example, I've not been in one of those in ages, same for Mercs and the Skoda & VAG options.

How big are your dogs ? I suspect you'll find the 3-Series a bit cramped. That's exactly why we ended up with a Passat.

I’ve had 3 dogs in mine. My 2 Labrador and a bigger Goldendoodle.

All labs/retrievers, but won't be looking to take all of them in it at the same time.
