Enjoyed that ECOTY. I didn’t predict the winner even though it seems obvious after reading it.
I spotted a Civic Type R on the motorway a week or so ago and had not realised from the pictures how pumped up its arches are. It looks fantastic in the flesh. It might be £50k but it actually appears worth it after seeing one and reading ECOTY.

Slight tangent, but is there going to be a FECPOTY this year?
Not sure a slightly aged 911 is going to win but I always find it a useful recap of fun stuff people have bought!

i think the 2023 FECPOTY was run in July 2021. Beanys Micra won because he wrote a creative writing story about it.

FECPOTY grew sillier each year (when Scott and I did it), and became a surprisingly time consuming exercise
Coaster did something simpler last year. Both

Yes I had a look and saw that YK did it last year
Agree we should just have nominations and then a poll. The essays where everyone made up some silly reasons why their car should win was a bit OTT

It feels like there have been a lot of car moves on the forum this year so fecoty would be pretty cool.
Barely started reading this year's ecoty but it seems to have a decent line up... not seen the conclusion yet but two 911s does rather seem to tell you which way it will go!
Glaring omission is the Lotus Emira, which sounds like it was their press department at fault - how and why I can't quite fathom. Surely it would get good coverage for them. I wonder if it runs deeper than that though, as why couldn't evo just borrow a loyal reader's (cough... Harry... cough)..?

I'm not sure we have anyone with the expertise required to successfully run a forum poll...

Just read ecoty (on a long train ride so picked a copy up).
I wasn't expecting the RS to win until early on they mentioned that it rode fine on the road, figured from then that it might win (based on the text I thought the McLaren might run it close). Was hopingthe Type R would win personally.

Exactly the same, Duncs. I thought it was a great article this year.

from the list published on page 1 it'll be the GT3RS

I haven’t read it, so have nothing to add. Just wanted to join in on the covert shizzle. Over.
