Funny you mention this - we also ticked that box! The lift is not currently working though so if you want to get to the summit of Cairn Gorm you'll need to do it the hard way (though not really that hard as it is a well maintained path and you can drive most of the way up as you say...)

Gazing back on Loch Morlich from near the top - this gave me vertigo for some reason!

p.s. I'd recommend stopping off at Dalwhinnie en route if you're headed up that way.

It's a Dark Sky park; could be handy for Dinny's Milky Way suggestion, would be a testing drive at night if not staying.

The already mentioned A82 to Glencoe is indeed awesome (Rannoch Moor 8-) ) and where - if they'd be interested in that sort of thing - Skyfall was filmed, this bit in particular; https://www.google.com/maps/place/James ... 44!5m1!1e4

If the average speed cameras cause too much excitement they could take a slight detour; https://www.google.com/maps/@56.6154781 ... 56!5m1!1e4

The Etive was on my bucket list of rivers to Kayak (along with the Orchy) but it never happened and then, I got old...
