If you really want a performance Alfa buy a Giulia quattroformaggio
Not really in the same class.
What would you put int he same class?

I suppose there's 2 definations of class. Class as in type, or class as in quality. I'm refering to type, so I'd only really put the Elise or Exige in the same class. I wouldn't compare it against the Boxster/Cayman, I'd say they were closer to the Evora.

If you really want a four banger lightweight buy an Alpine or a Loltus.
I've had 4 Lotus's and I don't like the Alpine.

If you really want a midengined car that sounds good and drives well, buy a 6cyl Boxster or Cayman.
But then I'd be associated with "Porsche People"
Buying cars doesn't have to make sense you know

if they did we'd all be driving economical Japanese saloons.
Ok, so my understanding of the logic here is that you want one because you’ve had several of the better options??
And/or you don’t like the image of a Porsche but are happy to drive a plastic sporty fiat with a boy racer farty 4cyl exhaust...
Yep - still don’t get it but each to their own!

The 4C is special, like the 8C. It has the ability to make you stare. Shame it doesn’t drive as well as it looks, but it’ll still become a classic.

My window installer's 4c is a nice thing, but not sure I'd chuck 40k at one. Poseur type car though? You wouldn't push one hard on track, or road, would you?

I was pleasantly surprised that the 4C is nicer in the flesh than in photos.
I understand that a carbon tub is attractive, and the weight figure is impressive, but a 4-pot auto with unremarkable handling was never as appealing to me at the price point as the Exige (undoubtedly faster) or Evora (more daily-useable). Different strokes etc.
8Cis a whole different kettle of fish.

The fact that a short mention in SSO's blog of a 4C generated quite some comments, says something.
Perhaps not a perfect car, but at least a car that generates a lot of emotion.
Never driven one, but reportedly rather flawed.
The 4C reminds me a bit of the Bimota V Due. Brilliant Italian design and highly desirable. Just don't drive/ride it.

I liked the 4C when I first saw it at Goodwood FOS, since then saw it a few times out in the wild and it just looked too wild to me.
I think both 4C and 8C are both dynamically flawed? But then most people don’t care (including myself to some extent) and like a pretty dress.
My money for cars that perform similar roles though, would go to A110 and Ferrari 550.

Sums up my experience of Alfa Romeo. Remarkably it's been 11 years since I had an Alfa.
