Fascinating. I wonder if they will be able to get any of the cargo out undamaged. Couple of the photos show a few still tethered. Obviously none will ever make it to the road for insurance purposes.

I read the first one and just couldn't get on with it. Didn't grab me at all.

I had it as an audiobook for a long commute. I did enjoy the different perspective from the Chinese author and a couple of bits were cool but I agree it was hard work. The 2nd book even more so even though it has an epic "Oh sh*t!" Moment. Have only read the synopsis of book 3 to see how it all ended up.

@scotta I imagine the salvage Co is being paid to unequivocally destroy every car and component on that ship, the potential liability of anything potentially exposed to seawater would be the first priority.

I remember reading about a bulk carrier full of Mazda's that only partially sank and every one of them had to be scrapped as well even after the ship was recovered.

I'm only part way through reading that and it's so unbelievable it's not funny. The fact that people like that actually exist in this world is both comical and insanely badass.

They need to make a Discovery series on this.
