I thought he was good, just didn't get the scripts. He had the right blend of panache and action skillz for me. Just a personal preference, but I don't mind you arguing for Connery as he was great too. Craig on the other hand...mik wrote: Sat Oct 31, 2020 4:56 pmBrosnan above Connery & Craigduncs500 wrote: Sat Oct 31, 2020 4:38 pmRIP, absolute legend. Can't beat The Rock.

Not really a fan of Craig as Bond. Too serious for me. He's great in some other films though - Knives Out, Logan Lucky etc.mik wrote: Sat Oct 31, 2020 4:56 pmBrosnan above Connery & Craigduncs500 wrote: Sat Oct 31, 2020 4:38 pmRIP, absolute legend. Can't beat The Rock.

You weren’t convinced he was Russian in Red October?Gavin wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 8:32 am He made a career out of playing himself, regardless of the character's nationality or accent!
Thank you. Was thinking about the thumb scene but couldn't remember the movie.Jimmy Choo wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 9:39 am Have any of you seen "The Presidio". It's got one of my favourite Connery scenes. He did that cold, threatening thing very well.
Oh, and anyone who says Brosnen was in the top 3 Bonds hasn't seen any of his films apart from Goldeneye.
His accent, from memory, was as convincing as when he was a Spanish Count in Highlander, or the Irish Cop in the Untouchablesmik wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 9:37 amYou weren’t convinced he was Russian in Red October?Gavin wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 8:32 am He made a career out of playing himself, regardless of the character's nationality or accent!

(Aside - love that film, but it always riled me that the countdowns in the trench run scene aren’t in proper seconds. It’s like 10......9.........8....7..6..5..4......3.........2.... )
In Highlander, he was Egyptian. Couldn't you tell?Gavin wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 8:44 pmHis accent, from memory, was as convincing as when he was a Spanish Count in Highlander, or the Irish Cop in the Untouchablesmik wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 9:37 amYou weren’t convinced he was Russian in Red October?Gavin wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 8:32 am He made a career out of playing himself, regardless of the character's nationality or accent!
