I've just checked and it was registered 29 Nov 2016. I'm not sure when they stopped production; do they exist on a 17 plate?

66 still feels like new to me, but that reg came out 4 years ago this month.

That I like. They’re fab cars. Wife’s friend’s father (keep up) took his Octavia in for some work at his local place in Suffolk. They gave him a Yeti as a courtesy car. Which he then bought and told them to keep the Octavia. And this happened over the weekend which as coincidences go is bloody freaky...

They were made till November 2016 I think, at least Parkers seems to show on the 'specs' pages for each trim.. Think they were sold into 2017 though as stock was run down.

Ah, just correcting myself. June 2017 is the last.

They do seem surprisingly loved by owners. I have no idea what people end up buying when they replace them - the Karoq is just a Skoda Tiguan, not particularly interesting.

So is the Yeti - It's a Mk1 Tiguan underneath.

God knows what'll replace it. Hopefully a 2017 Yeti. (Ours is a 2013)

Six years we've had our now - a 1.2 petrol manual, fwd, SE Plus spec which gave the sat nav, bluetooth and cruise control without the leather (wife is veggie so didn't want leather). Touch wood it's been faultless, though it's only on 47k to be fair.

No idea what I'd replace it with. Maybe an Octavia vRS estate, because Skoda. Or I'm eyeing up Muranos. Now the kids have got older the wife wants a smaller runabout - an Up! maybe, though I'd try and tempt her to a Citigo, because Skoda. I convinced a friend to buy a Citigo a few months ago and she loves it.

I know it is on that floorplan, but it's so much more interesting to look at, and seems to have had a lot of thought put into it.

Jon, this is an SE so doesn't have built in nav, but with the Smartlink it does Carplay so that's pretty much irrelevant. Has cruise control and the slightly darkened rear window tints; not full gangsta.

This morning I've found a set of virtually unused 17" Yeti alloys on eBay for £160 delivered so I've bought those for a set of winter tyres too.

What engine is it Simon?

Nice car, I've always liked the Yetis and they're great off-road too, very practical and fun.

The ones on it are Scudo, the ones I've bought are Spitzberg:


Have to say I'm not a fan of the Annapurna wheels; they're the same size as the Scudo and Spitzberg anyway so they all have relatively tall sidewalls (225/50 R17).

It is indeed the 1.2 TSI with 110PS. I haven't seen anyone say it's inadequate for the car, but hey, at least it should be economical

The 1.2 is absolutely fine. It's no ball of fire but it's enough for the wife. We get 40mpg ish most of the time.

I wanted one as our family car but the missus turned her nose up at it. Shame, I think they look great.

I’d have happily had a 3-series Touring but my wife wouldn’t consider it. And since she’ll be driving it, that’s absolutely fair.
