I rode one in Spain last year. They go pretty quick and have quite a decent range from the experience I had. They could manage an incline, but anything drastic, it basically crawled to a stop and had to resort to manually scooting. Brakes were pretty much non existent on them though! I rode it a long a smooth beach promenade, not sure how great they'd be in traffic or on a pavement here.
Pretty sure it was a Xiaomi from a quick google of the brands.

We hired these in Fuerteventura a couple of years back:

Not quite the same as we're talking about here but bloody awesome for riding up and down the coastal path. Even the wife enjoyed it.

We hired electric scooters in Seville last year, a great way to sightsee a city in a day or so. With 6 or so blokes on them it obviously got “Racey”.

6 blokes on a scooter = a big scooter.

Demand must be high as the price has gone up from £475 to £579 at Halfords.

I always get scooters if I’m in Paris or Brussels. I’d much rather do that than sit in the back of an Uber. Plus the GF and I can share one and save some cash, which pleases the Yorkshire side of me.

I like any powered two wheeler so you've got me thinking about these now. When they say they're looking at relaxing the rules, does that mean we'll be able to use them on the road like a pushbike?
Tempting to get one before that happens if so, before the price mysteriously creeps up.

Two or three times a year to each.
