This is weird. They're all linked out of my Google Photos account. The first time I used the "share" URL google gave me and nothing at all showed, then I used the "copy image location" from the images in the "share" folders, and some worked but some didn't. Now I've just linked to the orignials in the main folder.

All back again for me.

Have gone to a couple of open days at AS Motorsport who make DBR1 replicas and I've always admired the English wheel installed there and how well used it looks. Another skill I'd love to have!

Don't feel any obligation, but the next time you feel like throwing something in the pot, the Royal Marsden is one of my preferred causes (they pulled my mum back from the brink many many years ago).

Happens to be where my wife works. Consider it done.

So, got to fitting the clips and unfortunately turns out that they weren't the only parts of the chairs that were past it. One chair beyond repair sadly as the support where the clips sit split as I unscrewed them. I tried to make a replacement piece, but with no experience and none of the necessary tools, that proved fruitless.

But, one chair repaired and fitted with modified clips. Had to open them up a bit more as the plastic originals had a bit of give in them, unlike the new steel ones from Nef.

Proof!



So what I have I learnt?

- new DeWalt brushless drilling thing is awesome
- I need new drill bits, didn't have the right sizes and the ones I had were worn out (they're only about 20 years old!)
- woodworking beyond basic sawing/drilling is rather tricky without decent tools and a place to work
- I need clamps
- a table I can work at
- new blades for my metal saw
- a metal file
- a wood file
- and skills
