Best way to enjoy the last v8 ever.
The US prices in the UK would undoubtedly make it more appealing but it looks cheap and like a dog's dinner so that'd stop me having one against a 911 even though it's quicker. I'd rather a used, decent spec Cayman over a US price Corvette.NotoriousREV wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2020 9:49 amBecause it drives well and is over a second quicker to 60? I’m not saying I’d have one at £80k, but in the US where the Corvette is considerably cheaper than the base 911 ($60k vs $100k), it would be almost a no brainer.
And @mik, stop being Yankist.
You do you, but the 2 cars aren’t really comparable.McSwede wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2020 11:25 am I'd rather a used, decent spec Cayman over a US price Corvette.
They are in terms of them being "sports cars" and I base my opinion upon having driven neither. The Corvette is gopping to my eyes and just isn't desirable.NotoriousREV wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2020 11:50 amYou do you, but the 2 cars aren’t really comparable.McSwede wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2020 11:25 am I'd rather a used, decent spec Cayman over a US price Corvette.
You could as it'll be better built and last longer.
You’d be cheaper just buying a crate LS and Tremec box.ZedLeg wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2020 2:56 pm TBH if they get cheap it’d be cool to get the running gear and stick it in the back of an old pick up.
The engine is still LS based after all so depending how strong the transmission and stuff is you could get very silly with it.
Not so sure, anything that's been in the UK will have major rust issues.
I’d definitely have one over a used Cayman.
Below would be far more desirable for the same sort of money. It's only about 12 miles away. Just need to have a root around for that spare pile of cash
Cheap, nasty American tat. Zero desire for the horrid thing. They look awful.mik wrote: Mon May 10, 2021 7:17 pm Nearly £82k.
