had a guy come look at it yesterday. Took him a drive. Made all the right noises - asked about money cash or bank transfer. Said he'd let me know last night. Radio silence....

Had another email from a guy asking where the car was - replied. Radio Silence.

I've only ever sold six cars in my life. Only one was a satisfying transaction.

AT valuation recons £4930 but ive got it on Pistonhead at £4800 so put it there at the same price. There are two other private sales on there. Both at £5300 for similar age and miles and another one at £8000

I've only ever sold one car and didn't enjoy it, but have sold one for the mrs and one for my mum and both went quickly for more than I expected to the first people that came to see them

I think I’ve sold 4 cars -

Renault 19 16v - sold in about a week off AT
325 sport - sold in 24 hrs from a forum post
Fiesta ST - sold in 3/4 days off AT
RX8 - nightmare took fvcking forever.

The first 3 were very much in demand and well priced, the RX8 was just bad timing.

I have sold quite a few cars. I have never enjoyed it.

Of my 17 cars, only two have been p/x'd or sold to a dealer - one was my LupoGTi, the other was the VXR8. All the other have been sold privately, and on the whole, have been successful.

But I've learnt to be massively picky when selling. I try to sell via forums, and filter/vet everyone via email first, ignoring anyone who can't spell basic words or asks stupid questions. So it takes a bit longer to sell, but usually goes to the first seller...

I still hate it though. It's just a massive hassle.

I sold a fucked Fiesta to gypsies once

They paid in £50 notes, gave a very suspect business name and address for the V5, and I never heard from them again

When I sold the 'xige I requested bank transfer and the buyer agreed (I sensed some reluctance). Then on the day of collection he just rocked up with cash. Took forever to count, and I didn't enjoying having to take that much money to a bank.

I hate both buying and selling cars, but selling is worse.

I like buying cars, though not when rushed.
