There's degrees of immoral though, Sultan of Brunei has 600 Rolls Royce I read this morning  (not to mention 10 Macca F1s) Just gotta enjoy what it is I think.

Somehow I can’t see your average Bugatti punter moaning over a £5k paint option on the brakes and taking it to their local bodyshop to save some money

It is blatant nonsense that cost though, I think I'd still be annoyed about it even if I was minted 😂

Gazillionaires don't get that way by being wasteful with their money. Although if it's going to sit as a bit of jewellery they'd want the provenance of it being done by Bugatti, and if it's owned by an Arab prince they probably don't have the first idea about how much anything costs and so wouldn't bat an eyelid.

That probably rules out 99% of their customers.

@nuttinnew Around 22:50 (stupid mobile YT app not allowing easy timestamping) you get to hear some Varorkies.
:!:  I wonder if he got a release with it misspelt and he's stuck with it?

Re option costs, don't forget;
Pur Sport exterior package 65000 euros
Pur Sport Split 185000 euros

I expect some would happily have "their man" take it to a company for paint protection/detailing/etc though, and while they're at it, sort the calliper colour.

Though the reality is, most will be bought and driven off the covered trailer into the collection with every ticked option box maintained exactly as it started forever.

It's a crying shame that most with sit in a collection considering it appears to be such a driver's car. We should expect it to be too seeing as Andy Wallace is the development driver.

I had pondered the i4 M50. It’s not the best looking car but its claimed range seemed really good and I thought BMW’s claims were realistic. Seems utterly inaccurate and therefore useless.

Harry didn’t mention the fact that EV’s always suffer on the motorway (as he has done in his earlier vids), but regardless - it would have to manage 4.3miles per kw/h to achieve the claimed minimal range, which seems pretty unlikely for a large-ish frontal-area 2.2tonne hatchback on performance tyres.

Remember when the metro was launched and they claimed 83mpg at a steady 30mph? Feels like BMW are taking the same approach….

It’s a distraction from the end of production of their properly designed and appropriate pure EV, the i3. Even numbered to make it sound like a successor 😂

490kg heavier than the M4. That’s 4 x Tyson Furys 😂

Yes, I wanted the i4 to be awesome, because it’s a hatchback and I could have one now, but that range is useless! How have Tesla managed to get so much performance from their batteries (both range and accel)??

By making the car out of tinfoil and super slippery.

Tesla battery tech is no better than anyone else’s.

I guess that’s why they’re all coming out with SUVs.. easier to accept the additional weight. Guess it’s a Taycan for me then! 😁

Yup, there are limits to the chemistry and efficiency with lithium cells that can't be improved upon, realistically.

Tesla do seem to have a more mature/sensible/efficient battery management system however, certainly going by the competition like that M50; ~200 mile real world range is fucking shocking for a large executive saloon; having to do a near full charge every couple of hours of travel is utterly pointless in a car of that type.

Nearly 900KG heavier than my M3 too, which is around the weight of my first car (Fiat Punto 1.2)

So imagine being 4 up and going on holiday, don’t even think of needing a roof box or bike carrier on the back.

Someone signed that off as being fit for production aswell. I’m hoping it’s BMW making them annoying to run and secretly developing synthetic fuel engines with many cylinders 😂

Dave!
