Some nice looking offers on at Goldsmiths at the moment. I was tempted for a few seconds.

I keep thinking about the new white faced Tudor - like a Tudor version of the Rolex Explorer II. I never particularly liked the Rolex but for some reason the Tudor really works for me. And it has a date so my reason for selling my Black Bay is addressed.

They do look good, but they're nearly 15mm thick!

That's just unacceptable IMO

Now I’ve read the specs, yes - that’s too thick for me too. They also still have the fake rivets on the bracelet. So I might try one on but I won’t be buying.

I really dislike that riveted Tudor bracelet too

A simple Oyster style would be way more appealing to me (but obviously moves then even closer to Rolex#

I'm not a fan of Jubilee bracelets either - that stretched/baggy "Used car dealer in a sheepskin coat" thing

The original ETA movement Black Bay models had a nice plain oyster style bracelet without the rivets - they were added when it got a slight facelift (dial text and new movement). So if they went back to the rivetless bracelet it's not simply being more like a Rolex, it's what they had once before.

I think a monochrome Black Bay 54 with an oyster bracelet would be pretty perfect for me

A bit like this, but small, with a different bracelet

I don't see the appeal of that, or the Rolexes. Beautifully crafted, but no desire to own them. I like understated which I think it is, so not sure why it doesn't tick the box.

So earlier this week I had to hammer in some round fence posts. Top tip - tighten a jubilee clip around the tops to stop them splitting when you smack them. 8-)

I’m right handed, but was steadying each post with my left. Which is the wrist I wear my watch on. I’d done about 6 posts before I realised I was still wearing my C1000. Hmmm - that probably wasn’t the best idea.

Went for a shower and realised my watch had gained about 15 minutes. Reset it and it gained another 20mins overnight. Arseholes.

So I’m home-regulating again. Phone app I used previously is now dead so had to download another. This watch has the Valjoux 7750 movement, so thankfully the internet guided me. Currently (after 3 tweaks) it’s slow by around 15 secs per day, so another teeny movement required.

Don’t wear your mech watch whilst belting fuck out of something guys…..

I'm not going to link to it because it's being promoted heavily everywhere, but f--k me the new Chr Ward C12 Loco is particularly horrid.

Not something I'd want to wear, but I don't hate it that much. It's interesting... if I saw someone with one I'd like to have a look at it.

Eww - hadn't seen it. It's cool seeing movement elements, but I don't really understand the attraction of watches that have a really small dial taking up just a part of the available real estate.

I just don't imagine them to be easy to read with the flick of the wrist, it's more of s curio like the Bel Canto than a practical watch. I presume there's a market for it, although I've never seen anyone wearing a Bel Canto. I still like the design of many of CW's other more typical lines.

I'm with you on this Mik - I think that Chris Ward is very colour dependant - the White face being less horrible than the brighter colours

That's it - I get that watches are man jewellery but if they're as difficult to read as that you might as well just wear a bracelet. Do not like.

that CW Loco is £3800 on rubber and £4000 on stainless integrated bracelet

That's hilarious IMO

Nah - not for me. I don't mind dials behind the main dial (like most chrono's) but clean & relatively simple usually appeals to me.
