F50, cool. I thought.
Jay Leno, haven't watched him in a while but he used to be good. I thought.
I did not make it far.

Jay Leno is a bit like Harry’s Garage in that when he features his own cars it’s usually very good but guest cars or corporate reviews are not. I think he must have run out of his own cars to show though as I’ve not paid much attention to him for a very long time either.

Whether correct or not, enjoyed this journey through the history of Lotus.

.snip.
"Interesting" anecdote about the basis of the MR2 being the IP auction from the UK gov, pretty sure those timelines don't actually work with delorean going bankrupt in 82 and the first MR2s being delivered in 84.
Lotus and Toyota were collaborating very closely so it's far more likely there was simple cross pollination of expertise in the early 80s.
Thank goodness for the YouTube transcript feature so I didn't have to listen to that guy for half an hour!

@speedingfine That is very cool. But.
As it’s a replica (albeit using original panels) without a proper engine, I spent most of the video thinking that an Ultima RS would do everything (other than looking exactly like a 917) much better.

For me the whole point is it looks like a 917. How it drives is pretty irrelevant, it just looks utterly utterly bonkers on the road.
Would be part of my lotto win collection for sure

At a petrol station forecourt near @integrale_evo . In the future.....
WOW! I was following you all the way along the.... hang on.... aren't you Harry from Harry'sCarStuff? I love your work man . Anyway - I can't believe you are out in a 917K!
Yeah, it looks astonishing eh?
It does indeed . I bet it is a handful on the road! It must be de-tuned from the 1000+bhp of the race cars?
Yeah - this one has about 280bhp
Wow, that is ridiculous, I can't.... sorry.... did you say two hundred and?
It's a replica. But a very good one. Original body panels
Oh. It does look amazing right enough. It must still be great to drive though eh?
Nah it's pretty horrible really. But just look at it.
Oh. That's a. Anyway - I won't keep you mate - keep making the vids!
It's not a problem mate - hey, come any meet my new girlfriend! Not much space for passengers, but I can fully inflate her once she is out of the car.
Bye mate.

These things.
Wot they said. I'd take it for posh trackdays with my euromillions salary.

I bet it still feels pretty mental with ‘only’ 280bhp, just going by the dimensions / proportions. I expect the gearing is more suited to road use than the race car geared for 240+ mph too.
