I had no idea these had come down to this price. I mean I'd still take an LC500, but still....

Yeah, that's definitely cheaper than I thought they were. I do like those.

About 3 years ago I noticed that AMG GTs were down to around £50k. They bounced back up a lot during COVID but they've definitely been that low before - possibly more like £60k for the S, but I prefer the more subdued specs anyway.

ETA: the nice one I posted in this very thread was £60k with only 6k miles on it, a non-S in black with silver alloys in Sept 2020: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9255&p=102644&hilit=amg+gt#p102644

Here's the PH article with some photos: https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-spo ... tted/43047 . Would have been a good buy. In fact, here's what looks like it could even be the same car on Auto Trader with 26k miles now for £56k privately: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-detail ... 2284710618

They’re a great looking car, I was browsing these a few years ago when I was looking at £40k R8s. Not sure I see the point in paying the £100k extra for an SLS.

The Highpeak fella has one and running costs are ‘sensible’ IIRC.

I looked quite closely at a GT and also the S class coupe last year, I just couldn't get past the ancient tech in a car of that value, it is also shared by the aston vantage and really dates what is otherwise epic cars.

Lovely high spec and white really seems to suit it. I have a bit of an irrational want for it. Usually that sort of want goes away fairly quickly but I still want it a couple of weeks on. I’d been contemplating a new/nearly new MX5 with the 184bhp engine and I know I’d thoroughly enjoy that, but the want isn’t strong in the same way. Anyone near Hornchurch to go and have a look for me…?
Just used the trick discovered by Sundayjumper in the eBay thread to find out the registration of this Boxster and ran a VCheck. I'd pretty much decided against going to look at it on the basis that I won't use it but for a fiver I just wanted to see if it had a dodgy history - it's well priced for the spec. And do make sure you use vcheck and pay a fiver, not carvertical as promoted by youtubers for £30, for basically the same info.

MOT check first. No issues on the MOTs at all really over the years. It wasn't MOTed from September 2020 until January 2023, and only covered 130 miles during that period apparently. Turns out it's on its 8th owner, most recent acquired in Oct 2020 and hasn't used or MOTed. It changed hands 3 times in 2020, the first owner that year putting its current private plate on it so that's clearly going with the car after two more changes of owner since

The regular changes of owner and very short periods owned (two owners each had it for only a month) might indicate a problem and the dealer buying it back. I don't really understand why none of the 8 owners has done more than tiny mileage in it either; surely one of them would have actually driven the thing? Anyway, I'd still go and look at it if I hadn't gone a bit cold on the purchase but I suspect it has some sort of story to tell.

If the registration number isn't visible in the photos, go to 'Text the Seller' in the phone app and it shows you what the registration is in the suggested wording. No need to actually send the message.

You can't see it on a web browser so far as I can tell. There's an option in the web browser to carry out a paid for Vehicle Check and if you click on that the URL has 'EncodedVRN' as a field within it, but with a quick google search I haven't found anyone who's made a decoder. Using your phone and the AT app is the easy way.

I wish there was some rich petrolhead out there with more money than sense to make it his life’s work to buy all these cars and rag them to death before selling them on. Sadly that’ll never happen and these things are destined to be nothing more than at best a private museum exhibit or at worse an investment and unceremoniously dumped in a warehouse until they go under the hammer again and the cycle repeats

The interior is a bit Caramac, an improvement over black or slipper grey though imo.
