It's hard to tell when it's not revving out, old V12s tend to sound like bags of spanners at low revs imo.
Looks great on the road though, it'll be nice to see it on more long runs.

Oh dear. I suspect this won’t be cheap.
I’m always surprised that Iain Tyrrel just dives in whilst wearing his dressy polo tops and expensive watch. (Tudor? Unsure). Some overalls would save us viewers from occasional middle-aged belly reveals too.

Rolex Sub, isn’t it?
That gearbox sounded appalling. I’m amazed Harry let The Grand Tour rag it when it was making that noise; the risk of an expensive failure must loom large in the mind.
Really disliking the gold wheels a lot now. At least the wing is off

I had to switch it off, Tyrrell was crying inside while Harry was driving it.. I was shouting at the telly

The real CG Harry wouldn’t have let it go that far.

Entirely possible. He’s clearly not precious about it anyway.

+1 on being surprised that Harry let the gearbox get that bad over a long period of time

I didn't get that far but tyrells ineffably polite way of saying "for fucks sake stop ragging it you oaf" was quite entertaining.
I mean, from his perspective, if Harry wants to turn it from a twenty grand job to a thirty grand job, I don't suppose he's going to take they keys away from him
Edit: in all seriousness, I expect Ian gave him a worst case scenario price (IE it's totally fucking fucked mate, big time) that Harry was comfortable with risking reaching, hence the uncomfortable lack of mechanical sympathy.

My biggest takeaway from that, is that shot from the GT - it looks fucking incredible with the wing on!

I’m not sure which but you mean? Approx time stamp please.

Yep, I don't care that it does nothing positive in terms of performance, it looks great. Also the gold wheels look shit.
Silver wheels look better.
The wing doesn't just do nothing positive in terms of performance though - it wipes 15mph off the top end, and causes the nose to lift creating understeer and instability. Aesthetics will always create differing opinions, but dynamically it’s an undeniable fucking disaster.

^ I thought - by the end, at least - they'd got the mounting position sussed so it didn't have any dodgy effects (in terms of lift, might still
have scrubbed some speed)?

Not to my knowledge. It was only ever a dealer fit vanity item.

It might have been a comment by a specific dealer I'm thinking of then. I might try and find it.

That noise. Seriously, not like he’s short of a bob or two, how could you go on driving it like that.
I couldn’t understand his glee at seeing no lumps in the oil. It looked like metal paste and the noise it was making means something is already broken or so worn it needs replacing. Lumps or not, it’s knackered, it’s going to need a full rebuild, it’s just a matter of opening it up to see how much can be saved.

Probably find he can stick in a brand new Diablo 6-speed box for £less than a rebuild?
