I think that maybe because he possibly is just a dickhead. He's the living stereotype of the classic, largely long-extinct "Yorkshireman", and even though he may not actually be that person in reality, it's how he likes to perceive and present himself.

First I found out he was a CG was when he crashed a classic car and was pictured in public crying quite a bit over it. Maybe it was the Mille Miglia but as I think he’s a cvnt I don’t really care.
