I think it was Mr Porter who argued in his evo column that there were no good sounding V6 engines. So wrong.

He’s made a career from putting controversial shit in scrips so I wouldn’t place much value in his opinions.
Funnily enough I followed a Busso V6 through Blackwall tunnel last week. If you’re going to pay for the ULEZ then that’s one polluting engine worth paying for

My 406 sounded great but it had been decatted and had a pretty much straight through Powerflow exhaust on it.
VR6s always sound great with decent breathing mods as well, a friend has a MK2 Golf Driver with a VR6 in and it sounds brilliant, its quicker than I expected as well.
The Jag V6s In the XJ, S type and X type always sounded a bit ordinary, very smooth, but also devoid of charecter, always wondered what one would be like if it was allowed to breathe a bit better.

Metro 6r4 at full chat also sounds glorious. In fact I'd put it up there as 'in the metal' one of the greatest sounding engines I've ever heard.

I’ve always described V6s as sounding like a straight 6 but with a Birmingham accent.
