That said if I ever get a company car or lease something myself I’d love to just never wash it and just give it in for it’s first service after 2 years just to see the dealership monkey have a go at swirling the crap out of it
so by that logic, the only reason you wash a car is to keep the value for the next owner?

What sort of moron would expect ventilation from ven......oh hang on, I see where they went with that now!!
Anyway - any sort of phone mount is wrong, up there with perma-wearing a headset or keeping your phone on a belt pouch.
Or are you an Uber driver?
1. I don't direct the vent towards me, weirdly.
2. I use Google Maps a lot.
3. The mount is awesome. The end.

Recent UK law. If you are holding a phone/device in your hand it's a £200 fine and 3-points on your license.
I have a phone holder.

The Mother-in-law wanted to take all 5 of her grand-children to Longleat this weekend, so we said she could borrow our bus. Unfortunately, it came back smelling absolutely foul, like burnt clutch, & a quick drive up the road confirms she has absolutely fucked it. How she has done this is beyond me. She must have ridden that clutch the entire way round. It's a good job it didn't catch fire.
Well, the burnt clutch smell seems to be embeded in the car forever. I've hoovered & cleaned the interior, de-gunked & steam cleaned the engine bay & the entire underside of the car, but the smell persists, albeit slightly less strong. Don't know what to do about that.
The clutch pedal is biting at the top now & although it's not slipping yet, it can't be far away.
As it also needs a new turbo at some point, I'll do both at the same time, depending on which part lets go first.
We really should replace the old girl, but its got to that stage where I just want to keep it going out of spite

Nothing wrong being attached to the workaday bus, as you all know I'm just the same with the Toyota. Also over 12 years ownership now!

No I just wouldn’t want to put in effort maintaining something I don’t own. I don’t mind washing my car, I wouldn’t like to wash someone else’s car.

After deciding I'd join the lads in Scotland this weekend I figured I should check the car over. Boy.
Four new tyres fitted this morning - Tyresonthedrive - £413
DS2500 pads bought from Demon Tweeks (excuse for a little drive too) £89
Blagged DT workshop to fit the pads to be told both front calipers had seized pistons. Fucksticks
Dropped on local garage and gave them sob story about needing to be north of Glasgow by Fri evening - two recon calipers coming Thurs, fitted Fri morning. £96 x 2, plus labour (2hrs)..
So what was meant to be a nice gentle start to my two weeks leave is costing me a ruddy fortune (altho all the above was due anyway, I'm well aware).
On the upside, fresh S001s and front brakes should let me have some fun in them thar hills.. chasing a GT3, 968CS and gawd knows what else..

i have no interest in washing my car, but I still like driving a clean car. Doesn’t matter who’s name is on the logbook.

I’d have to see how much my OCD can cope, maybe I would give in and take it to an automatic car wash eventually.

My dad finally got the PDR in the Camaro fixed so had time to have a look this evening. It’s very Gran Turismo like

The drive was pretty butt clenching even as a passenger, the tyres are absolute crap in the rain and it was aquaplaning at 55 mph with very little surface water, with the back end wandering even under the most gently of acceleration.
One interesting trait is the front tyres stick out past the arches so it gets absolutely covered in crap from the side windows right up to the roof. Still it sounds magnificent, even when it’s doing it’s burbly idle and is way more comfortable than it has any right to be.

Bit harsh to say that about your Mother-in-Law, she only burnt the clutch out after all.
