I could understand Paddy but he seems incapable of pronouncing the first letter of most words - it’s humankind as Chris said, not uuuuumankind.
Found Freddie much more difficult to understand overall though.

Is it an accent thing or speech therapy thing ;)

It’s not the 1920’s guys - surely you have all heard English spoken in “regional accents” by now?

Oh we can hear them. That's not an issue at all as they normally seem to be yelling. It's the actual constituent words contained therein that are both an absolute mystery and of zero interest to us.

I can understand any accent if the words are pronounced properly (as in the south or anyone who is well spoken regardless of region) but some northerners just start removing syllables and sounds from words and then start fucking with the sentence structure and grammar and then talk very quickly essentially turning into a different dialect

"grunt grunt pie barm grunt" ;)

The accents didn't annoy me TBH - another surprise as I'm from the other side of the Pennines and have been conditioned to think everything to the West of them is wrong and backward

Sadly, these southern pansies lack our connoisseurs ear for northern accents and will undoubtedly think they all sound the same.
You *do* all sound the same, though. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to enjoy a cucumber sandwich and drink a half of lager shandy.
Bet your mum cuts the crusts off for you. ;)

Really enjoyed that, as has been said, no forced/scripted banter in evidence and Freddie and paddy seemed genuinely enthusiastic.

I think she’s the blonde I’m thinking of. Would she have been around for the launch of the Diablo VT? I saw them filming a Top Gear Motorshow special at Birmingham and she had to do multiple takes as she couldn’t latch the door properly.

That episode was decent, had a couple of proper laughs in it.

The Stig’s 488 lap has gone up on the TG YouTube channel btw.

I love the couple of shortshifts he does on a couple of the corner exits just to maintain some grip. That thing is insane.

Indeed. And even then iit takes off like a stabbed when he gets the clog down.

Looks a bit wriggly under braking, but it really wipes the speed off. 8-)

Bloody hell - the rate of acceleration even if the short-shifted higher gear is insane! Every gear has a rev climb as if it's 1st! Heavens.

Are they taking the pista with qualifying tyres though ?

Or was that just the Hockenheim car?

Presumably its even easier for them to cheat these days (as they were renowned for doing) with Turbo cars by fiddling with the mapping.
