Was with LV - £503 last year, £592 Phone call reduced this to £537. Confused.com's cheapest defaqto 5 star cover was @£400 with Aviva. And that's with £0 compulsory excess, vs £250 with LV.

Just been looking as it looks like we might be in for a MG4 XPower if there's some still available, and it's 647 quid a year!

That's more than I thought, but still cheap for a 430hp brand new car I suppose.

Jimny renewal through from Aviva - £159 compared to £189 last year. I had a look at adding it to the Admiral multi-car policy which covers the S6, Macan and MX5 but they wanted £179 for what worked out as only 6 months. Additionally Aviva don't seem to charge an admin fee for anything - including when I added Mr Choo onto the insurance - so I'm sticking with them. And @Jimmy Choo remains insured on it.

I did mention to @JonMad a couple of years ago that we should go green-laning; maybe next year now but I can probably add you very easily as well Jon

Absolutely! As mentioned elsewhere, I've been thinking about the Jimny while driving the new Mudrunner game.

I've had the Civic renewal offer this week, up £3 to £197 or some daft number. Not sure I can be bothered looking at other quotes.

On related note, white van man reversed into the Ioniq6 last night, so there's that to deal with as well. Fuxxsake.

Absolutely! As mentioned elsewhere, I've been thinking about the Jimny while driving the new Mudrunner game.

Plenty of byways around Berkshire/Wiltshire on the downs, many of which are restricted in winter but open from May. Will have to arrange something, maybe someone else with a 4x4 would like to come?

I just renewed my car insurance for a good amount less than I paid last year. The quote was about £50 more than last year. Called up to cancel and they got it to within a few quid of the lowest price from the comparison site (~£200 cheaper). I struggled to get "reasonable" price last year.

Although I had to call up, they did reduce it pretty quickly. It seems to be trending down (for me at least) looking at one comparison site. Not sure if the price increases are softening off as I've not changed anything with my policy?

Got an interesting DM yesterday after posting a video about supermarket loyalty cards. Apparently insurers might use loyalty card data to help assess your risk level as a driver based on shopping habits. I.e. don’t use your loyalty card for the late night booze purchases, but do use it for a Saturday morning healthy family shop

I have it from a robust source that Tesco were the first in the UK to do this (any many other levels of analysis) with their loyalty cards, and despite working in management for them and buying most of their food from them, refused to use a loyalty card.

Yeeeaaaah they don't give you those discount cards out of the goodness of their hearts, they do it so they can analyse the data, and sell it to, for example, insurers who can use it to fuck you over harder.

I'd not be remotely surprised if they sell it to the likes of BUPA etc too, where it'd be highly valuable.

Up is due for renal. £620, cheapest I can get is around £550 if comparison sites are to be believed. Guess all the youngsters crashing them is starting to catch up. Madness when the QV is under £800.

Anyway, considering adding the Up to the Admiral multicar policy. Question is, I currently have two sets of NCB that have been earnt separately. I assume I'll lose that as they'll be assimilated into a single policy?
