Has anyone got a book on me ripping the suspension out from under the car after getting a bit over-exuberant with the loud pedal?
Faster than Rich B crashed his E30 ??
Indeed!
very little experience - any talent + far too much excitement = 4 bent wheels +1 shattered sump + some bent rear suspension + a nice dent in the rear quarter.
I learnt my lesson quickly that day! Thankfully I still had my other e30!
Ha, hopefully I'll avoid doing that.
Otherwise it's ticking over nicely. Smooth and relaxed (if a bit firm) when you want to pootle, but picks it's skirts up nicely when you're in the mood, or want to overtake five cars at once.

The Mini is in having its clutch replaced. I have a 1st gen cooper as a loan car. It's noticeably gruntier than my One and all the controls are much lighter.

Got a call about the Mondeo today. What's the bets they don't turn up - or they turn up stupid late, make a stupid offer, etc?

It's no secret that I love lightweight, high-powered NA engines. I think this car would suit a turbo though, Mazda MX5 BP engine with a discopotato, SR20DET or even an old M20b25 with a snail on it.
The way it sits though, I can't get past the idea of a burbling, dirty, big-cube V8 in it. Something with a lumpy idle that will twist the chassis over as you rev it and will just lay thick, black lines at will.
Do both, swap a 4.8 or 5.3 iron LS engine in and put a cheap Chinese turbo on it.

New wipers fitted. Wanted to get PIAA but what a ballache working out exactly which ones are right for my car...
That, and Bosch Aerotwins were less than £20 for the pair from Amazon. Still waiting on the rear to arrive.
New rear washer wiper jet ordered too.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates.

Clutch replaced. £560 but I can now fully appreciate how gutless the car is having driven a cooper for the last two days. The extra 19bhp was very noticeable.
Superchips will find another 38bhp so that may have to go on my christmas list.

I've just spent an hour washing the 530 and I'm about halfway through. Fack this. I need to start paying someone to do it.

If it wasn't for the fact that every time I've tried WBAC and the like they lowball you to at least a grand less than it's worth I wouldn't bother. If it was a couple of hundred I'd let them have it but a grand plus is a different matter.
Carl.

I don't know about anyone else, but I quite like the ventilation from the vents. Which is blocked by that type of phone mount.

What sort of moron would expect ventilation from ven......oh hang on, I see where they went with that now!!
Anyway - any sort of phone mount is wrong, up there with perma-wearing a headset or keeping your phone on a belt pouch.
Or are you an Uber driver?

Or stop washing it with a toothbrush. A proper wash on a really dirty car takes me less than an hour.

We have mud here JL. And rain.
Proper wash at this time of year when it’s raining every other day:
Wheels/under arches/tyres - 4 mins each.
Rinse car with pressure washer, shuts, underside and let snow foam dwell - 8 mins.
Wash with only the finest wool from a Merino lambs vagina - 10 mins.
Dry - 5 mins
Vacuum - 5 mins
Tyre shine if I can be bothered.

That said if I ever get a company car or lease something myself I’d love to just never wash it and just give it in for it’s first service after 2 years just to see the dealership monkey have a go at swirling the crap out of it
