How exactly?
Not saying Corbyn would be any good but I can’t see any upside to Boris being Prime Minister or any of the other mooted candidates tbh,

Because economy.
You're right though, it's a disaster any way you look at it.

Even economically he would be a disaster.
A no deal brexit and selling what’s left of our national infrastructure off to the Americans piecemeal doesn’t sound amazing.
The tories can’t even do the one thing they’re supposed to be good at anymore.

It’s a shambles. Only one that would make a positive difference is Raab imo. Don’t think he’s got enough cash to get supporters like Bojo though.

Borus wouldn't No Deal. He'd try and halfway house it at best or remain at worst.
He'd be an unmitigated disaster whichever way you look at it but he wouldn't be as bad as Corbyn.

Since when has he ever stuck to anything he's said? As a leaver I wouldn't trust him anymore than May to take us out.

I genuinely hope he gets assassinated should that repugnant concept actually become reality. He is hateful.
Still better than Corbyn.
A fucking monkey would be better that Grandpa! Oh, wait BoJo, carry on...

Seriously, no you can't be, Raab is the closest to Hitler of the lot of them, a totally hateful self serving cunt!

Didn’t say it’s perfect, he’d get the job done. Who else would you prefer, Andrea Leadsom?!

Family meal tonight - had my parents and brother's family around. From the original EU ref (and party affiliation):
Brother - Remain, LibDem
Sister-in-law - Remain, Labour
Dad - Remain, Conservative
Mum - Leave, Conservative
Me - Leave, Conservative
How we voted in the EU elections:
Brother - LibDem
Sister-in-law - LibDem
Dad - LibDem (first time ever)
Mum - Didn't vote
Me - LibDem
I've heard rumours that the Conservatives may not return ANY MEPs across the country, which would be a bit of a shock really. Still, reap what you sow I suppose.

In some ways I hope it’s Boris so that the EU can tell him to go fuck himself directly and so he can be removed from post very, very quickly.

Hopefully do damage to his campaign if not stop it altogether.

Can't see it doing much harm to him, the court case will disappear and I reckon most Leave voters now know that the campaign had a load of lies in it, clearly it doesn't put them off.

I can't see it disappearing, he clearly lied so it will go to the high court where it's not going to be over quickly. Worst case scenario he's going down, will the Conservatives take tie risk of voting for yet more damage to the party?

Its sets a dangerous precedent as politicians consistently manipulate figures when campaigning - Nick Clegg, for example, time and time again referred to the percentage of British exports to the EU (44%) as the "percentage of the economy linked to the EU" or words to that effect, when clearly it isn't. Its 44% of the 30% of GDP that is related to exports, so 13.2%. That's a lie in exactly the same vein as the failure of taking into account the UK rebate in the £350m figure.
I'm clearly not condoning it from either side but making an example of one political faction or one person on the basis of a privately brought prosecution is a dangerous road to tread.
ETA: interestingly, apparently the DPP can take over and discontinue private prosecutions if it thinks fit. I wonder whether that would happen in this instance. Obviously its also highly political if it does so.

In what way is someone being prosecuted for lying in a public office a 'dangerous precedent'? - if Boris wins, then it's back to the status quo. Billy bullshitting non stop.
If Boris loses, then polticians might have to, you know, try to lie in a
less spectacular fashion or gods forbid, actually get somewhere close to the truth when they open their mouths.
It beggars believe that you think a prosecution for a politician blatantly talking shite is a "dangerous precedent". Politicians being held to account on the factual basis of the statements they make should be the
literal minimum standard in a functional democracy.
