I think he meant that if someone was abusive he would have got some sympathy as no-one deserves any violence against them. So instead they poked fun at his awkward bacon snacking.
Whereas Farage may have got some sympathy due to him being attacked ?

It’s funny that you mention that, when the gammons were screaming about getting a bit of milk on you being assault there was a video of Milliband getting egged going around.
