Oh, no, he's just seen that he can grift rubes on it.
But also a large element of making sure nothing negative is ever published about him. He's got twitter & facebook owners onboard already with the tax cuts and whatever regulatory free passes he's promised but TikTik being completely foreign owned needed something different to hand him that power.

And you saw this I assume ? You just know he insisted on it. He's not the president.

It’s America, you get called president forever once you’ve had it, so technically he never stopped being president trump

On that subject, I don't see Trump lasting the full term. I see him pegging out before 2029 as he's veins are full of McDonalds hamburgers and Russian pornstar urine.

Honestly I think he'll get Et Tu, Brute?'d before his heart gives out.

He surrounded himself with power hungry amoral psychopaths, and I don't think he realises quite how much someone like a Musk or Zuck or Bezos would give to get shot of him and get a real patsy in the driving seat who's less troublesome, and that one of them has absolute control over.

Listening to the News Agents and it's quite amazing how they always manage to get Trump supporters to sound like wild-eyed conspiracy theorists. I get that those ones do exist, but I also spent a couple of months in the US between 2018 and 2020 while Trump was president, and all the MAGA supporters that I met were perfectly normal people, just with their own frustrations about politics. I think we get fed some incredibly polarising news perspectives about America (surprise surprise eh).

The number of "Normal people with their own frustrations about politics" is huge, both here and in the states but you rarely hear from this silent group. These people don't respond when a news cameraman sticks a microphone in their face and asks for a Vox Pop.

The only ones who do are the "God Bless America - MAGA" or the "Look at me - I started selling my fruit and veg in lbs and ozs I did, the day after Brexit!!! Makes ya Proud" types.

Really skews the narrative

The problem is the wild-eyed conspiracy theorists are the president elect & his cabinet, not some harmless randos on the street getting cherry picked for the amusing interview content.

I agree with Beany, one way or another he won't remain president for the whole term. I don't necessarily mean bumping him off but he's not going to go quietly is he ?

Dying of natural causes and MAGA spinning it as an assassination by the deep state would work well - none of them actually guilty of killing him but sets a pretext for lots more security crackdowns. Bonus if it's anywhere near election time as they can run an election interference angle. One of their favourites. Placeholder - a manufactured security crisis that's used as a reason to delay the 2028 election is on my bingo card.

Oldest one in the playbook, but Trump usually likes to be a bit less subtle even. He'll just say "You all love me, I'm the best, so I'm going to change the law so I can run again." And people will just vote for him. This term is going to be a full on state managed media assault... they'll probably have even all of us believing he's the best president ever by the end of it!

Biden has preemptively issued presidential pardons for some of the people most likely to be targeted by the incoming administration, including Fauci. How insane is that?

If he doesn't last the term, does that trigger an election or does the number two get to sit it out (under normal circumstances)? Vance would be just as disastrous at the helm.

If the president dies, or quits etc the presidency goes to the VP.

Trump looks fine, doesn’t exactly look like he’s knocking on deaths door so I will say he’ll last the full term unless assassinated. He may last a few terms depending on how bat shit crazy things get 😉

Absolutely nothing to do with the ridiculous corruption, oh no.

I know. Trump's team is dirtier than a week old used nappy, probably why Biden is trying to protect them.

Not much point leaving your people to be martyrs when the guy in charge wouldn’t do the same. Fuck it, if i was Biden i’d be protecting everyone around me too.

What a messed up system!

The best bit is all the billionaires cozying up to Trump now. Musk was a given but we now have Bezos, the Zuck, Google CEO all at the inauguration. All aboard the gravy train.

Well Zuckerberg already admitted that the Biden administration were telling him what to put on and what to remove. Maybe he has more to be worried about or he just wants to be left alone so will go all bestest mates with Trump.

Did they also attend Biden's inauguration though?

Surely they cosy up to whoever is President?

So that's why Melania's hat has such a wide, low brim

It's so he can't reach to kiss her 😂

No idea but I’m sure they were all democrat leaning.
I remember The Washington Post (owned by Bezos) then made the decision to not endorse a presidential candidate when it looked too close to call. So I imagine they just go for whoever is most popular.
Apparently they’ve donated $1 million each to attend the inauguration.
