Well that fcks the clean emissions up
I'm only being slightly facetious, and not at all anti ev. I'd think that mileage the yearly norm for many people and that tyre life around half of that they're used to.

Split a tyre on a nasty pothole this morning - thankfully a few months back I'd bought a spare for the Up so a quick swapover (I say quick - unfortunately the front brakes are too big to fit a spare, so spare fitted to rear, then moved to front). I'm still suffering from lingering covid, so doing that at -3deg at the roadside has done me no favours...

Tyre prices have had something of a hike, though.... I bought some F1's for £77/corner in 2020...same tyres are now £110 :/

Similar with the MINI. I bought new tyres for the wife's car in 2021 and the price was "seems fair, I'll do it" but when I priced the same thing for the Clubman in November it was "actually, I'll put it off for a bit".

Have you any hope of getting the council to foot the bill for the replacement tyre?

New oil cooler seal fitted to the Vito. So far <touch wood> I think it's done the trick. The turbot is boosting properly too so I think the new pressure sensors have sorted that as well. I'll book it in for an MOT this week and then I think it's time to part ways :(

Gavster & I bought it just under a year ago to do our Ukraine trip which it completed easily and only tried to kill us a little bit. All sorted now. (failed injector seals allowing exhaust fumes into the cab).

2008 109CDI XLWB Traveliner 9 seater. 6sp manual. Less than 210k miles. Lots of stuff done over the last year. £4k. Includes F__K PUTIN sticker.

X5 has had an annoying knock / rattle on certain types of broken surface or bump. I gave everything a good poke and prod when doing the front diff and all the arms and bushes looked good.

Decided it had to be the topmount. Unfortunately it’s not a separate serviceable part on cars with air suspension. Fortunately a complete brand new unit was only £76.

One mounting bolt was pretty tight and needed some heat, but other than that it was very simple, and now rides nice and quietly.

Finally fitted my 30mm rear spacers. They’re sized for the normal wheels, could probably have got away with 50mm with the winter set. Still, looks 30mm less rubbish than before..

Started the ‘sud for the first time in months too. Took a lot of cranking but was lovely and smooth once it fired. With they’d stop throwing salt around so I could actually use it.

Vito is up for sale. Had one offer already @ £4k but I think I can do slightly better.

Decided to advertise the Clubman too, totally speculatively, but if someone bites at the asking price it's a pretty good profit. Three enquiries so far (including the obligatory "what's your absolute best price") and 13 watchers so there's some decent interest out there.

Have you sold cars on eBay much before @Sundayjumper ?

I'll be getting rid of the XF and V60 shortly, I have a friend who wants the V60 so that should be straightforward, but WBAC type places have no love for the XF seemingly.

Similar age/mileage ones seem to go for 10-13k on the bay, so I may give it a shot. Just really cba with the general public

You're asking *me* if I've used ebay much ???

I have and it's been painful at times but you can minimise it a fair amount.

* Do decent pics
* I wouldn't normally go overboard on the description, I don't think most people read it, you'll still get messages asking questions that are already covered
* Absolutely DO NOT run it as an auction or something with a "Buy it Now" button. You'll just get morons who "win" and then either disappear or offer you half the agreed price knowing that it's going to be a PITA for you to relist it.
* Classified ad is the way to go. You'll get a feel for people from the questions they ask. Arrange a viewing and do the haggling face-to-face.
* If they desperately want to agree a price without viewing then be firm when (if) they turn up. Assuming (!) the advert itself isn't full of obvious lies.
* And do not take the advert down until you've got the money and the car has gone

There *are* some normal people out there. One will come along.

Yep, as per SJ - just use it as a classified ad and you're fine.

Same experience with mine last year (longer in the tooth admittedly). I don't think anyone loves second hand Jags, period. You could always say yours was owned by the queen...?

Thanks all, I'll stick it up on Jag forums, and as an eBay classified ad, might be a while yet as there appears to be a fair wait on these PHEV Cupra Formentors 🙄

Mine seems quite low mileage compared to a lot of similar age ones (77k) and it's still under (transferable) warranty, which would cover the full cost of an Engine or Gearbox if they were to go bang, which is a decent selling point on any JLR product!

Been looking at Octavia VRS 4x4 estates, Clubman All4 Cooper S or 330d X Drive Tourings to replace the V60.

Will have to find some to have a go in, the Mini especially appears to be a rare car.

Indeedy ! And it was up to 46 watchers on ebay. Must be a good time to sell.

No interest in the Vito yet. It's a bit more specialist I guess.

My daughter wants us to buy a convertible as a toy.

Do any of you guys have a convertible that lives outside?

I had a constant battle with condensation and mould in my 996 Targa even though that had a tighter seal than a Boxster and am a bit reluctant!

We have two :D but one is nearly sixty years old and lives under a cover, and is probably not quite what you had in mind anyway.

My wife's MINI is a convertible, does not have a cover, and is fine. It does get used pretty much daily though. I think the main thing is to keep them aired. The Cayenne & the Compact are both a little damp inside through lack of use, neither are convertibles.

Other two MINIs ? The diesel one is long gone and my wife loves her convertible so that's not going anywhere.

If the Vito goes I'm pondering selling the Cayenne as well and putting the money from all three into a nice Range Rover.
