The video of the guy casually carrying what looks like an anti tank (or at least, anti vehicle) mine off the road and into the forest, with a ciggy hanging out of his mouth, is very on brand for this conflict so far.

Ukraine President has now signed the formal application to join the EU... Putin confirms that the reason they put some of their nuclear arms teams on high state of alert was because of comments made by someone he won't name, but who is the British Foreign Minister... how young do some of these Russian captured soldiers look?... Miss Ukraine pictured in fatigues with an automatic machine gun & scope... man carrying landmine off to the ditch while nonchalantly smoking a cigarette... lots of Russian tanks apparently have run out of fuel.... farmer towing a Russian tank away when the crew were presumably off for a pee... those Ukraine soldiers who told the Russian destroyer to go fvck themselves seem to be alive after all... even China seem to be distancing themselves from Putin... I wonder how long the oligarchs are going to put up for their businesses & lifestyles being impacted by the sanctions....

What's interesting to me and I don't know why it should come as a surprise to me because its in the Geneva Convention, but there's something reassuring about the fact that the Russian soldiers appear to be largely following the rules about non-combatants - which is why we're seeing things like tanks just stopped in roads by Joe public and the like.
