<man maths> £90k premium, makes the road car look a bargain. </man maths>

You're getting 80% of the race car for 40% of the cost, it's a bargain!

Embargo on journo feedback for now - not sure when it is lifted. This is “almost final production spec”. Apparently.

I was enjoying the sun and food at caffeine & machine yesterday, my wife commented that this could be an "expensive lunch" as this pulled up outside. Its a lhd 3.5 manual, in the correct colour, the driver couldn't say a lot as its under an embargo but his face said it all.

Seems like the car has been doing the rounds, last week it was being driven by Phil from c&m.

Still looks good in the flesh I take it?

@duncs500 I have only seen the pre-production mule (no engine) but it looked good - whilst looking very much like an Evora re-vamp to my eyes. (The bloke on the stand was very keen to stress that it wasn’t an Evora chassis though - new suspension pick up locations etc).

I did lol at 14:18 when Harry referred to the Tour-spec car as an Evora.

As @scotta highlighted to me - unusual for Harry to leave the speedo visible for his first climb up the hill…

Suddenly reviews are everywhere.

Group tests too. I have to admit I whizzed through most of this to get to the outcome.

If you just want to know the result :
Spoiler
The GTS just pips it for these guys

Interesting that Jethro thinks the Sport chassis on Touring tyres is fine on the road (for the brief road time he had with it) when Harry thought the Sport chassis on Sport tyres was a bit much on the road.

Might be different expectations I suppose.

It’s really bizarre that Lotus provided (presumably) Jethro with a Sport spec chassis and the Tour spec tyres. For a track-based assessment. :?

Loved the GT4 in that colour.

Interesting that Jethro is doing stuff for Evo again, I wonder if he'll go back to the US at any point. I really like the stuff he did for Motortrend.

I like Jethro too. He is super-relaxed behind the camera now, and his critique always feels measured.

His review is definitely more critical than others (to which I have seen a range of "yeah typical evo anti-lotus bias" and "well done for being the one brave enough to tell it like it is" comments - depending on the commentor's bias  ). The handling concerns he notes may well be addressed by having one of the two chassis options offered, as opposed to the "neither one nor t'other" setup that he ended up driving, but that won't affect his opinions on the engine or gearbox. Maybe the AMG 4-banger and DCT will answer some of those :?:

He commented that the redline was 6.5krpm. It is actually 6.8krpm - which is 400rpm lower than the redline on mine - I believe this is due to a limitation on the later 'charger. Which is a shame.

Rory (who I didn't love on TopGear, but is he much better on more recent reviews imho) loved it, and performs some nice slides for the camera (Sports chassis and correct Cup2 tyres).
