You have to remember
1) Their goal from their free kick was as dubiously awarded as our penalty.
2) Even if Kjaer didn't score, Sterling was right next to him to knock it in. That ball was a goal either way.

Was sat watching with my 10yo and the booing of the Danish national anthem was hard to ignore and clearly not isolated to a minority of fucking idiots.
Pretty much reinforced all my old predudices about soccer, both the game and the fans.

It wasn't just the anthems, the crowds have been very quick to boo if the other team are holding on to the ball, which always happens, but it has been much more prominent, possibly because of the smaller crowds and how the allocations have worked out.
Its been a fantastic tournament though.

Is it really different to anything else? There's "car enthusiasts" who like nothing my better than donutting on trays in MaccyvDs car parks, theres rugby fans who enjoy performing sex acts on each other, breaking stuff and calling it "banter", etc... theres Cunts in everything.

In the case of football I'd say yes, it is different. There are long-established links with organised hardline groups, and that's a global issue, not just UK. There have been attempts to disrupt that over the years, and things have improved in some countries, but the stench still lingers a bit, including in the UK.

plenty of places have bad reps for cunty fans - our opponents Italy have plenty. Naples is one of the first places that jumps to mind when people mention football hooligans.
