I've noticed the booing a lot during this tournament inclduing plenty of non-England games. I don't remember hearing it so much before, but it seems to have become a thing this time. Was sat watching with my 10yo and the booing of the Danish national anthem was hard to ignore and clearly not isolated to a minority of fucking idiots.
Pretty much reinforced all my old predudices about soccer, both the game and the fans.

In the case of football I'd say yes, it is different. There are long-established links with organised hardline groups, and that's a global issue, not just UK.
